Cassia Primary School’s BHP Early Learning Program is for all children and their families from 0-4 years of age. The program is designed to support parents to develop their skills of enhancing early literacy as their child’s first teacher. The Early Learning Program is run by a qualified teacher who has been trained in the 3a Abecedarian Approach. The 3a approach is a set of evidence-based teaching and learning strategies for early childhood teachers to use with children from birth.
This approach consists of four elements; language priority, learning games to develop skills, conversational reading (developing back and forth communication) and enriched caregiving (learning to add educational content to daily routines of care)
Families are encouraged to get to know the teacher, become familiar with the school grounds and be involved in school programs to build early relationships with the school.
